About SourceCAD
CAD skills are typically taught in fragments — a YouTube tutorial here, a paid course there, a certification exam somewhere else — with no single platform tying the learning journey together. SourceCAD set out to close that gap: a dedicated, end-to-end learning environment built specifically for CAD and engineering design education.
The platform serves a wide range of learners with very different needs: engineering students building foundational skills, working professionals upskilling for career growth, architects and designers refining specialized workflows, and universities and enterprise teams managing structured, role-based learning at scale.
The brief was to design and build a platform that could support that entire range without compromise, combining premium video instruction, live expert-led training, interactive quizzes, eBooks, and guided learning paths, all wrapped in a secure, subscription-driven experience that works seamlessly whether a learner is on the web, on Android, on iOS, or offline entirely.

Challenges & Solutions
Protecting Premium Video Content from Piracy
Paid CAD courses represent significant creator investment, and unprotected video streams are trivially easy to rip and redistribute, undermining the entire subscription model.
A dual video pipeline was built using Bunny Player and VdoCipher DRM, giving the platform flexible, studio-grade content protection for premium course video depending on content type and delivery need.
Letting Learners Study Offline Without Compromising Security
Engineering students and professionals often need to study without reliable internet, but simply caching video files locally would defeat the purpose of DRM protection entirely.
A per-user encrypted offline cache was built using Flutter Secure Storage and AES encryption, with downloads validated against the learner's active subscription, so content stays watchable offline and still protected.
Supporting Multiple Payment Gateways Without Fragmenting the Checkout Flow
Serving a global audience of students, professionals, and enterprise buyers meant supporting several payment providers, each with different SDKs, flows, and edge cases, without creating an inconsistent or brittle checkout experience.
A unified payment flow was engineered with dynamic gateway routing across Razorpay, Stripe, and PayPal, alongside cart recovery logic (including deep-link recovery) to bring back learners who abandon checkout mid-purchase.
Keeping Mobile, iOS, and Web Experiences in Sync
With native mobile apps and a web platform running in parallel, keeping features, content access, and app versions consistent across every surface is a constant coordination problem.
A settings-API-driven force/soft update system was built to manage app versioning, paired with deep-link handling, push notifications, and careful GetX lifecycle management on mobile to keep the experience stable and consistent across Android, iOS, and web.
