Cabryo — Building a Smarter Way to Book a Ride

Passengers and admins both needed to see driver locations and trip progress live, without noticeable lag or excessive delay between a driver's actual position and what appeared on screen. At the same time, constant location polling risked draining driver battery life over long shifts.

We built a real-time location tracking layer using GPS data from the driver app, updated at intervals tuned to balance accuracy with battery efficiency. Passengers see their driver's live position and route on the map from the moment a ride is accepted through drop-off, while the admin panel can monitor active trips across the fleet from a single view.

Manually assigning drivers to ride requests does not scale — it slows down response times and leaves ride outcomes dependent on whoever is managing dispatch at that moment. Cabryo needed a system that could match passengers to nearby available drivers automatically.

We implemented an automated dispatch system that evaluates driver availability and proximity to the pickup location, then routes the ride request accordingly. This removed the need for manual intervention in day-to-day bookings and made ride assignment faster and more consistent.

Passengers needed to know the estimated cost of a ride before confirming a booking, based on distance and route rather than a flat guess. Getting this fare estimate right, and keeping it consistent with the final trip cost, was essential for passenger trust.

We built a fare calculation engine that generates an upfront estimate using route distance and trip parameters as soon as a passenger selects pickup and drop-off points. The same logic is applied at trip completion to calculate the final fare, keeping the estimate and the actual charge closely aligned.

Cabryo needed a payment flow that passengers could trust, capable of handling online transactions securely without adding friction to the booking process.

We integrated a secure online payment flow into the passenger app, allowing fares to be charged digitally once a trip is completed. Payment status is reflected in the passenger's ride history and synced with the admin panel for reconciliation.

Cabryo is not one app but three connected surfaces — passenger, driver, and admin — that all need to reflect the same trip data in real time. A booking made by a passenger, an update from a driver, and a view in the admin dashboard all had to stay in sync without conflicts or delays.

We designed a shared backend architecture that treats each ride as a single source of truth, with the passenger app, driver app, and admin panel all reading from and updating the same trip record. This kept booking status, driver location, and trip history consistent across every interface.
